Old Town is Bluffton's historic heart — a few shaded streets between May River Road and the river itself. Calhoun Street runs down to the water, white churches stand under the live oaks, and a working oyster house still works the riverbank at the end of Wharf Street. Most of these photos come from one long March day in 2013, walked with a camera. One nearby storefront has a page of its own: the Downtown Deli on May River Road.

Key Takeaways

  • Calhoun Street is Old Town's main street; it ends at a public dock on the May River.
  • The Heyward House, built in 1841, is Old Town's house museum and welcome center.
  • Six of these seven photos were taken on a single day — March 26, 2013.
